I was born in Huruma on May 9, 1988 and was given the name Robinson Munene. I grew up in Huruma, which is where I started learning.

Later is when I came to stay with my cousin in Dandora because my parents could not stay with me and provide for my basic needs.

It was later when my cousin moved to upcountry and I decided I would stay in Nairobi. That is when I found myself on the streets because I could not afford any rent. I found myself in a bad position.

I started to sleep outside and I found others on the street who told me to come and sleep in their base. In the morning, they gave me a plastic bag and told me to go with them to collect scrap metal, plastics and paper. This is how we make money. We collect them and sell per kilogram.

Later, I found myself working in garbage collection. I earned some plots for myself and with my friends we collect garbage and recyclables and that is how we make a living.
